Exercise Therapy and Pilates
Frequently Asked Questions
What is exercise therapy?
Exercise therapy is a systematic and structured approach to physical activity and exercise, specifically tailored to address your individual health goals. Our classes incorporate a wide range of exercises and equipment aimed at improving your flexibility, strength, endurance and overall functional capacity.
How is the class structured?
The class initiates and finishes with a warm up and cool down. The meat of the class consists of various exercises split between reformer Pilates and free weights.
Is there a difference between an exercise physiologist and an exercise scientist?
The main difference between an exercise physiologist and exercise scientist is that you will be able to claim your sessions on your private health cover depending on your extras package. You can also claim back some of your sessions with an exercise scientist, but that comes down to the discretion of your private health fund, and any further paperwork required to be prefilled by your physiotherapist. Such paperwork is not required with an exercise physiologist.
How many clients per class?
A maximum of 4 clients per class.
How much are the classes?
Individual sessions start off at $55 per class and get cheaper with prepaid packages as below:
- 6 pack: $294 ($49 per class)
- 10 pack: $450 ($45 per class)
- 20 pack: $750 ($37.50)
Prepayment for packages is required and will stay on your file as credit to be deducted each session.
Can I use my private health fund?
Yes, depending on your level of cover and fund.
What is the duration of the class?
60 minutes.
Do I need a initial or 1:1 assessment before joining a class?
If you are not a patient of the clinic, we highly recommend you have a 1:1 initial assessment with our physiotherapists to identify your physical strengths, weakness and movement restrictions. You will then have an initial consultation with your exercise therapist to create a tailored program before joining a larger class.
What happens if I cannot attend a booked class?
We highly recommend that you pre book your classes weeks in advance as spots are limited. Of course there may times where you can not attend, and we would appreciate if you could give us 24hrs notice. We will make this easier for you by sending you an sms reminder prior to the session. A failure to notify us will result in the session fee being deducted from your credit.
